Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer AND Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer

Masciarelli Family Funeral Homes located in Fitchburg, Westminster, and Lunenburg, Massachusetts is looking to add a talented, experienced and motivated Funeral Director/Embalmer AND Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer to its staff.

Position Description: Our funeral directors work closely with our locations team to create a seamless and meaningful experience for the families in our care.

While this is a comprehensive funeral director position (arranging, directing, embalming, etc.), we seek candidates who have a passion and focus on the care of families and meeting their needs.

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer Position Requirements:

  • Must have Massachusetts Funeral Director/Embalmer licensure or the ability to reciprocate license from another state.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a practicing Licensed Funeral Director.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with families during time of need and create and maintain a premier level of client family satisfaction.
  • Proficient with computers and technology
  • Ability to manage a caseload while creating an exceptional customer experience.
  • Must maintain a current, valid state Driver’s License with good driving history.
  • Must be able to pass full background Check.
  • Reports either to Funeral Director in Charge or Vice President of Operations.

Funeral Assistant/Support Staff Position

Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home (Southern Maine)

We are a family-owned & operated funeral home and have been serving the Southern Maine seacoast community since 1927, and are committed to handling every family we serve with care and compassion through dedicated professional funeral and cremation service.

Position Duties:

  • removals
  • calling hours: set-up, clean-up included
  • funerals: preparation, set-up and clean-up included
  • regular cleaning of property, interior and exterior including vehicles
  • assist in dressing, casketing of deceased
  • assist Director with office tasks as needed
  • schedule to include "on-call" hours, 2 weekend per month and 2 weekday evenings TBD


  • Physical ability to lift 75lbs
  • Valid and clean driver's license/record
  • Professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Ability to respond to York area death calls within 20 minutes
  • Dedication to professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail required at all times

This is a flexible position, 20-40 hours available.
Hourly rate of pay $18
On-call shift guarantee $100 per weekend
Removals from 8pm-8am paid out at industry rate of $85 flat fee each
Owners will begin employment on 30/60/90 trial period and hold monthly check-ins thereafter
