Because you deserve the best education possible.
FMC is a leading institution in the funeral service industry. We offer students a unique opportunity to join the fast-changing world of funeral service. We have a commitment to innovating this industry and producing graduates who are not only experts in their field, but also leaders in their communities. Don’t believe us? Here’s the data:
- The current 3 year Average National Board Exam pass rates for 2018–2020 are 77% for the Arts and 72% for the Sciences.
- The current 3 year average for our Graduation Rate is 84% as reported in the ABFSE Annual Report, and 93% of our graduates were employed in the funeral service industry post-graduation.
Every year, we see our students graduate and become successful professionals in funeral service. We’re extremely proud of our rate of prominent job acquisition following their completion of our associate degree program.
Because you should learn from the experts.
Part of Fine Mortuary College’s commitment to student success is hiring great faculty and staff. Our instructions are licensed, experienced funeral service professionals. Many members of our team have decades of experience and advanced academic degrees in their fields. If you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best.
We’re also happy to have a low student to faculty ratio. For the last several years, we had six students for every faculty member—a much lower ratio than nearly any other school in our area. Small class sizes mean you have an opportunity to learn from your teachers one on one rather than in a large lecture-hall style environment. Through developing strong relationships with your instructors, you’ll learn about funeral service in a way students simply can’t in larger schools.
FMC is a convenient place to get your degree.
Fine Mortuary College is located in the center of Norwood, Massachusetts. We’re near the junction of I-95 and I-93, and just a thirty-minute drive away from downtown Boston. We’re in a prime location for anyone in the Boston area, and you get to avoid traffic on your way to class.
Even better, each class meets only once per week for ten weeks. This means that our students can live at home and travel to the college less frequently than they would have to at another school for the same class, effectively cutting down living expenses and commute time.
You can also take your courses in the morning, afternoon, or evening, and in any season of the year. Because we offer courses year-round, you’re able to get your degree sooner and join the workforce earlier than you could at other schools.
Finally, Fine Mortuary College reviews all student’s previous college transcripts for possible transfer credits to help expedite the process of obtaining a degree.
Because it’s the smart financial choice.
We believe the funeral service profession should be open to anyone with a passion for helping others and a commitment to success. Your current financial situation should not impact the education you receive, and that’s why we’re happy to offer a range of ways for students to cover our costs and fees.
- We are approved for VA benefits and unemployment training benefits
- We participate in both Federal and State Financial Aid Programs
- We offer in-house scholarships to qualified students
- You can set up a payment plan to manage your tuition as you work
- The cost of all textbooks and materials is included in the program tuition
- There is free parking available on campus.
Many of our students are also employed at Funeral Homes as they earn their Associate Degree. They can hold full-time jobs because they only need to come to Fine Mortuary College one or two times per week to attend their classes. This class schedule, in which each in-house class meets once per week for ten weeks, allows students to pay for their education because they are given the free time to work.
Roughly one-third of our students receive financial help to attend Fine Mortuary College through grants. Seventy-one percent are awarded financial aid in the form of Federal and State Financial Loans. As a result, many students can cover their full tuition through a combination of work and financial assistance.
